Well, long time since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been away for a while at the International Film Festival in Annecy, France where I watched a whole slew of animated stuff. Some was good, a lot was mediocre and a few were really bad. Actually surprising (in a bad way) since Annecy is renowned to be the worlds largest and most important festival when it comes to animation. Especially sad, since a fellow student send her film in which was a lot better than most of the stuff being screened. Nevertheless I’ve been inspired and motivated to work more on my own animated stuff. Next to some freshness from my sketchbook, some character studies for my upcoming animated one minute short:

Blood and Frame

As you can see I’ve changed the character design quite a bit from the last sketch that I posted. I thought it would be a lot more interesting to have Robert, the zebra, “behave” like a real one instead of antropomorphizing it.
